Kizz Daniel broke the hearts of many music lovers at his Afroclassic world tour in Washington DMV as he delayed them for 4hours before arrival.

This is a show people paid $75 for and you still arrived late. While the incident might look like personality disorder on the part of Kizz Daniel, I think it’s more of cultural problem in Africa.

As a result of these, he was booed by angry fans who were now shouting for refund. It’s an embarrassing scene.

Here’s why it’s more of cultural problem than personality issue.

Nigerians fix event of 8pm at 4pm because they know people won’t arrive until 8pm and the performers might not arrive until 10pm or 11.

It’s a normal thing in Nigeria and it’s more of cultural clash. In abroad, time is money. People value time a lot and delaying unnecessarily will cause problems.

Wasting 4hours out of people’s time is a lot in an economy where people are paid according to the number of hours work.

These happen most times with Nigerian artistes, the god-like attitude of I can do anything fans don’t have choice is common such that when they go outside the country they forgot they’re no longer in 9ja and do the same.

Charity they say begins at home and it’s time we begin to put these things in check at home before it goes out of hand.

Things That Can Make Artistes Late For Show

Although, lots of logistics issue might have arise but coming into the show acting surprised like you don’t know people have been waiting for hours is a sign of unseriousness and he deserves the treatment that the fans gave him.

Although he has apologized and give reasons why he came late for the show. According to him he had delay with US Consulate in Nigeria.

It still doesn’t sound like genuine excuse. It’s still as a result of inadequate planning from his team.

It’s pretty cool how much afrobeat is much respected all over the world but if care is not taking, the attitude of some artistes, show organizers and other professionals in the game can bring disrespect for Afrobeat.

Shoutout to the guys who brought afrobeat to where it is today, but actions like this will only make these people already respecting afrobeat have a change of thoughts.
