This “Barnabas” project is coming as a follow-up after his King Of Love album which was released in 2020. A lot of hit songs on that album such as; “Jaho“, “Ada“, “Boys Are Bad“, “Fvck U” and others.

THE REVIEW

Barnabas” is a 7-track EP that was released on 19th November 2021 and distributed by Empire.

In anticipation of the album, Kizz Daniel released “Lie”, a song that topped many charts and stayed on number 1 on Apple Music Top 100 for a very long time.

Pour Me Water

The EP started with “Pour Me Water”, a song in which Kizz Daniel sang about the fact that fine boys do have relationship issues too.

The song has this perfect blend of production with some really cool music instruments.

Addict

Pour Me Water followed by Addict, both are almost the same vibe but the flows are different.

This is an explicit song with lots of praise on drugs and substance addiction and s3x.

Here Vado talks about his addiction to substances and s3x.

At this point of the EP you begin to feel the pleasant listening experience and how the genre is blending into each other.

Eh God (Barnabas)

This is the track where the name of the EP is gotten from.

The vibe here is completely different as Kizz Daniel raised the tempo a bit higher.

On this song, Kizz Daniel goes into communication with God in a groovy tune.

Barnabas is no doubt a hit. You can’t listen to this song without moving your body.

Oshe & Burn

On “OsheKizz Daniel worked with the Cavemen on this track. This song is also almost as groovy as Barnabas.

As produced by Young Jonn, Kizz Daniel brought the tempo down a bit with this beautiful love song titled “Burn”.

Here, Kizz goes on love confession and how he’s still going to stick with honeypie at 50something.

Many pick-up lines on the song, you need to listen to it so you can gerrit.

Lie & Skin

The 6th track is “Lie“, nothing to say about this song because it’s a hit already and the last track is, “Skin” where Kizz Daniel worked with Kelvin Colt, a Nigerian Rapper of German Descent.

Kelvin complemented Kizz Daniel very on that particular track even though his verse is kinda short but he added some cool vibes that we are not used to in Nigeria.

Production & Technicalities

Kizz Daniel worked with some really good producers on the EP. DJ Coublon, Young Jonn and others.

It is so good how the entire album comes with musical instruments that create the right mood for each song.

However, in the arrangement of the song on the album, you’d notice the tempo of the songs was considered.

The first two tracks are mid-tempo while the next came with a bit increased tempo before slowing things down again.

The EP created a really cool listening experience and Kudos to Kizz Daniel for all the efforts exerted on that project.
