Nigerian social media space won’t be interesting without the creative efforts of some comedians and skitmakers in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

The year 2022 was a dull year for some comedians while few others were on top of their game with their skits becoming hits back-to-back.

Since “sapa” and Buhari won’t allow many Nigerians have a wonderful year, these comedians are the ones who have succeeded in putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians this 2022.

2. Mr Macaroni

Adebowale Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr. Macaroni made a big mark in the comedy scene this year by building up on his existing line of content.

What really killed it this year for Mr. Macaroni is the introduction of Mide Martins into his Family series. Mide Martins really played the wicked housewife role well on every episode of Mr. marcaroni skits this year.

Born Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Amuzie, Brain Jotter is one unique character when it comes to comedy skit making in Nigeria.

6. Broda Shaggi

9. Kie Kie

Coming from a mention for a Top 100 Social Media Influencers in 2021, Kie Kie took the new year by storm with several amazing skits.

Apart from being a comedienne, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori popularly referred to as Kie Kie is also a TV/event host and an actress actor who rose into the limelight as a fashion enthusiast.

Kie Kie is known for her major pranks at real-life events and her numerous skits (both original and featured).

The comedienne has been distinct this year with her skits including the introduction of Tailor Oran, a YouTube series which has featured several other entertainment influencers.

Kie Kie is often a trouble maker in her skits and is usually left to face the consequences of her actions. In late 2022, Kiekie announced that she is expecting a baby and majority of her social media contents after then has been related to being a mother.

She is mostly known for the catchphrase “problem” at the end of her skits. She received an AMVCA nomination this year, featured in a well acclaimed movie “A Simple Lie” and presently has 1.8 million followers on Instagram at the moment.

10. Nas Boi

Despite coming into the limelight with his unique art of playing the character of low budget OBO who built his comedy career around mimicking sensational Nigerian artist, Davido in his videos, Lawal Michael Nasiru popularly called Nas Boi has grown over the years into one of the best online skit makers in Nigeria.

2021 revealed him as one of the comedians to look out for in the year and the comedian didn’t disappoint with his amazing number of skits and collaborations.

Coming from winning Humour Awards “Revelation of the year 2021”, Nas Boi got nominated as the Best Online Social Content Creator for the African Magic Video Choice Awards (AMVCA) and was also nominated for the GAGE award in 2022.

Since dropping the niche of mimicking Davido in his videos, Nas Boi has built an audience for himself by developing several other roles including playing the role of Chief Romanus, a kind of comedy that depicts the life of a typical Igbo man.

Worthy Of Mention – Mc Lively

Michael Sami Amanesi, popularly known as MC Lively or Barrister Mike is one of Nigerian hilarious skit makers. He’s a law graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University.

After being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016, MC Lively chose to pick the call of skit making on social media instead of making the legal court his daily home.

Interestingly, his creative prowess in skit making has gifted him with 2.8 million followers on Instagram and 332,000 subscribers on YouTube.

MC Lively is of the opinion that “You’re not living if you’re not laughing” and he’s comedy career run this year 2022 has been nothing but impressive.
