Nigeria Will Go Back To Dark Days If Cannabis Is Legalized – NDLEA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday said making consumption of Cannabis legal in Nigeria can take the country back to her dark days.

Brig.- Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), the Chairman and Chief Executive NDLEA, said this at an intuitive meeting with heads of safety offices, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and heads of government offices in Jos, Plateau as he dismissed the calls for Cannabis legalization.

A few Nigerians have been rooting foe making Cannabis legal for well-being purposes and to boost the economy.

However, Marwa said that authorizing cannabis would shorten its continuous battle against chronic drug use, focusing on that such a move would likewise return Nigeria to its dull days.

He uncovered that 10.6 Nigerians were at present burning-through weed, adding that legalization will only add to that number.

“NDLEA dismisses totally the need to legalize cannabis; it is a decision between bringing in cash and the significance of life

The NDLEA manager reprimanded security organizations and different partners to help the office in its bid to control the tide of illicit drug use in the country
