Mario Rui, who plays as a defender for Italian side Napoli, has waved away rumours of a rift between Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and manager Luciano Spalletti.
After weeks of him being linked with a move to the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United said to be interested, Osimhen decided to remain at Napoli.
And on Monday, 25 July, Victor Osimhen was back in the headlines this time around for wrongdoing after being sent out of training by Napoli coach Spalletti who was furious with his attitude.
The Super Eagles star shouted at a teammate and made some comments which got Spalletti angry and asked him to leave the pitch.
According to the reports on Soccernet and Corrier Sports, Mario Rui, who was also in training, claimed that Victor Osimhen only showed positive passion and desire.
“When I see a teammate pushing in training, I am very happy.
“I like this type of training because it means there is desire, dedication, and attachment to the cause.
Then, of course, it takes serenity, but I can assure you that nothing has happened.
At the end of the training, everything was over, and in the evening, we were all together for dinner.”
