An official of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stated clearly that the 2025 Nations Cup will be hosted in Guinea despite Nigeria confirming interest to host.
Amaju Pinnick who is the President of the Nigerian Football Federation explained recently that he and his team are planning to step in to co-host the 2025 African Cup of Nations.
There have also been talks that the 2025 African Cup of Nations could be moved away from Guinea, but a CAF top man has dismissed such speculation.
According to the report on BBC, the CAF official explained that the body has not not discussed anything about replacement and Guinea remains the hosting nation.
“The host for the 2025 tournament remain Guinea and that has not changed,” he told BBC Sport Africa.
“We’ve not discussed anything about a replacement or received any communication from Guinea about the inability to host.
At this very moment, everything is on track for Guinea to host and there is no reason to suggest otherwise.”
